Well, another big Super Late event- 10 locals and 1 out of towner. The stands started emptying like it was a Speed Truck race. Maybe we should send Stafford a thank you card- everything he did in 5 years is now paying off.

topfive, I must agree with you. People were leaving like rats on a sinking ship. I originally thought it was because the sprint car race was over and they were the supporters, but maybe you are right. It was very sad to watch.

Well with only 10 cars out there running around it looks more like a practice. I miss the days of 20+ SLM's out there. With that low car count it is only a matter of time until they move their race before the National Anthem!.......

It's a good thing they went with the 3035's and not the 970's. I see it really brings in the out of town racers. Here is an idea. Why dosen't the track ask its racers what tire and fuel should be used in the division. I vote for 970's on 100 octane (from the track or Rebel).

Everyone here is making valid points. However, to send thanks to Stafford for his past efforts are in fact deflecting where the current problem lies. Stafford made many mistakes with the biggest one being not listening to those who come to the track each week. I think we all had high hopes and gave the new track staff the opportunity to turn things around. I know it takes time, but when all you see is more of the same BS, you have to call it what it is. All they did was continue with the same old BS and added in some new crap just to freshen it up a bit. A perfect example is this, Richter reduced the purse for Chargers by 25 Percent which is now 300.00 to win and the same reduction applies down the finish placement chart. When asked why he did it, he said it was to redistribute the purse funds to the top 20 cars in the race. Just when did we have 20 chargers in recent memory. The true fact is he made another 240.00 for the track. Seeing that only 12 chargers raced, where did the other 30.00 per vehicle go? In their pockets of course. Just another fine example of the tracks continuing efforts to get us all to just give up or go elsewhere. It's a real shame, I've said it several times and will say it again; we have the best facility in the southwest and the worst staff (with a few exceptions of course). They can't seem to grasp the fact that by being track dictators instead of racing partners, they are quickly driving the sport into the ground.

Last night's Super Late race was an embarrassment to the the whole town. 11 guys start and 4 finish?? The out of towners must have been laughing at how pathetic our feature division has become. The Tour cars show up with 22 nice cars and the Mods matched them- the Bombers and Legends also put on a good show. Hey Tim- either bring back the 970's and pump gas or run the Supers before the National anthem.

Yes I agree, I couldn't believe the comments fans where making. They will not be back due to higher entry fees to watch a 8 car, 30 lap trophy/destruction Derby.
The team operating cost effect more than the track! If cars are not raced , they do not buy parts, engines, or need them maintained! American is sure making money and has GAME now?
It isn't hard to figure out what the solution is, to be Nobel is the ability to compromise and do what is best for everyone!
Solution, lower the tire/fuel costs or increase the payouts. example the SRL cars run the same tire but get $4000 to win!
I am not going to say I told you so. Just fix the problem!

people (fans and racers) are starting to realize the bomber division is the REAL entertainment value, we are crashing less, racing harder, and finishing races with a 99% original field, and lately the bombers are starting to get a little respect.

Hey Professor - didn't anyone ever tell you that you were to proof ready what you write? Makes about as much sense as usual! Illiterate.
By the way - where was your fine motorcar? Can't find anyone to work on it?

Bomber #11,
I agree, you guys have a great field and put on a good show. At this rate you guys will be the feature division at LVMS.
I am sure American/LVMS is already trying to put you guys on a mandatory expensive tire/ fuel they can make monies off of. Ha ha

Morris,
You might be right, but my 4 supers are parked!
These promoters need to stop being Greedy and start promoting these events!
There are too many closed door deals at the expense of their integrity and honor.
What they are forcing the super late teams to do is start their own series. This would be very similar to what LVMS did to the modifieds several years ago.
then Premiere divisions will be legends or Bombers, or whatever series they can pay to show up!
Lucus oil is already sponsoring the Supers at Irwindale and the Modied series. I don't think it would be an issue to have them pick up the new Super late series!

I just watched a special on PBS about the Mexican revolution- The common thread was that as soon as one of the " reformers" gets into office, he goes corrupt and forgets about the people he was fighting for. It seems that the Bullring managers have the same problem. As soon as they get an office up in the ivory tower, they get spoiled and start doing the suck-up routine just to keep the job. Maybe they should put the Bullring managers desk in the tire barn so he can relate better to the guys putting on the show.
