dave this is in no way a business move and the track makes absolutly no money off fuel and tire sales just ask mike stafford lol lol he made it very clear at first drivers meeting this yr. if no oneis making money y is it 2 dollars more then any other thrack i have found...and i contacted vp and u can buy a drum for 6.96 a gallon that is anyone the track apperently has an account and buys bulk so they can get it for a cheapere price yet still charge the racers more... my suggestion would be all charger driver go back to running 100 or pump gas are they gonna dq everyone??? i dont think so the bomber protested in pahrump and i heard it worked y not get the charger drivers together and do the same

The deal isn't from the volume of fuel, it's from the sponsorship exclusivity. Were one listening closely he said they didn't make money on the fuel, except for the initial deal. VP purple in small batch is 10-12 bucks a gallon in the open market. The track isn't buying the fuel, it's being brokered by an outside vendor. Go talk to them, I have. Don't know what you're going on about the Bombers in Pahrump. It's got nothing to do with the fuel issue. It's a done deal, it's not going away. Guys like Phil or Mario aren't going to throw a championship away over 40-50 bucks worth of fuel a race. If I were in that position I wouldn't. In the big picture when you run a program like that it's one of the least of the expense. Far less than say tires. What it does I think is take the guys out of the back of the grid who are either learning or just out for fun on a limited budget. For me the brunt of the issue is the way they did it so close to the beginning of the season when most of the teams already had budgets. Had they done it in our class it would have changed my program a bit.
Gerri the reason they don't use Sunoco is that deal applies only to the touring series. As far as our class is concerned NASCAR is basically an insurance salesman. Our "licenses" are really supplemental insurance. My understanding from Mike is that VP has paid for an exclusive contract that also includes track signage. That's pretty common in many forms of racing.

that right there is my point dave if it wasnt for the 5 or 6 running in the back for fun how many car would we have 6 or 7? i for one dont wanna see a race of 6 or 7 chargers lol
and its more then 40-50 bucks...did the math and it is close to 800 extra just for fuel not to metion tires and what not

Unless they lowered the MS93 price it was just under 35 for 5 gallons a few weeks ago. (that's 7 bucks/gallon crewdude) I was using MS93 for a couple of years and getting it at 7/gallon small batch is a good deal. I last paid more than 9/gallon two years ago locally and at some races was paying up to 12 a gallon. And you couldn't get around it because you had to buy fuel and sometimes tires when you registered for the event.
I doubt they'll impose it on us this season. We've been told we can run it or not this year. If they do, what are the choices? Not run. Run and not use it, which I would do while I was getting the car and driving sorted. Go to Havasu, Irwindale or Orange Show? That's going cost a lot more than than the cost difference of the fuel. The Terrible's where I get the pump gas has premium at 3.23 making the difference about 19 bucks for 5 gallons.

That's not what he said. There was no mention of running if after the break. I was there. At the first race they didn't know but shortly after gave the class the option to run it or not. People in the class have discussed it with the track.
I don't know what your deal is dude but there sure are a lot of misstatements and factual inaccuracies in your posts.

A few years back the VP rep at the track indicated there was a 113 fuel they had in the trailer that was more applicable for the compression of the charger engine and cheaper per gallon than the 110. If the track wants a fuel rule why not use the appropriate fuel?
