Wow, what a boost for a truck team that is only a few months old. The team owners continue to make smart moves- Even after investing in a bunch of West cars, they decided to skip that series completely and go straight to trucks. They buy new trucks from Kyle Busch and merge with a proven team. Then they decide to hire Michael Waltrip, a veteran superspeedway specialist to drive the truck. His on camera call to go for a turn 4 pass and succeeding will generate more press than a million dollars of advertising. Adding to the whole thing was the 10 th anniversary- to the day- of Waltrip's win and Dale Earnhardt's death in the 500. This will be a topic of conversation all weekend in front of millions of fans- by next week Vision will be a well known name. Johnson and Davis will get plenty of camera time in Phoenix for their rookie starts.

He had a good run that's for sure. What was interesting was the Vision livery was pretty light and I didn't hear Mikey mention them. The rear had a couple logos as did the pit equipment for that truck. For sure a KBM/Rick Ren truck with Triad power is a great package, but it looked like they rented MWR that truck for the day. Nothing wrong with that, at least they get owners points.
There is a pretty deep pool of talent in the truck series this year. I think the boys will do well if they get through PHX with top 25. That 15 truck is going to have to race his way in so he'll have his work cut out for him. Fortunately some of the smaller, faster teams won't make the run out west.

I agree- the truck series has a bunch of talented young guys. With the new rule forcing the drivers to choose a series for championship points, it will give these new guys a better chance to show their stuff. Those who do well will have a good chance to advance to the next level.

With a win for the 15 Davis and Bellew have to be thinking they might should try to keep that truck in a locked in spot. If they lock him in they'll be able to likely get some funding from other and/or smaller sponsors. If the boys can keep the equipment in one piece, no easy task at Darlington even for a seasoned vet, they can lock both trucks in and make a pretty good run.

Let's hope Davis can get in on his qualifying time. Johnson is locked in due to his owner points. With all these new guys, I predict a lot of wrecks happening. Hope our Vegas guys can survive it all. Also good luck to TJ and Debbie Clark in the West race with Gallagher making his debut.

"Let's hope Davis can get in on his qualifying time." Funniest thing I've seen on this forum in a LONG time. I'll have to just shake my head the whole way thru the race while Johnson runs into every truck in the field. The Wreck Twins should make for a nice laugh on friday.

heatmiser,
I must agree with you 100% about Johnson. Most likely it will be more like a demolition derby than a truck race. Maybe they think it is bumper cars. Davis won't qualify.

What re-hab would that be? The one where you're addicted to bragging about idiot race car "drivers", when you know that everyone else on here thinks their both a couple of morons. We've all had to repair damage caused by both of these goof-balls. Neither one of these losers deserve this opportunity.

Topfive,
I actually think its the same guy. They both refuses to tell anyone who they are.
I see it every day with teenagers, its called attention through conflict!
Good luck to everyone from Vegas who has the opportunity to race at a higher level. Only positive things come from any racers that make it to the big time!

I'd give Conners a chance before either of these jerks. He can race without running into other drivers.
Billy, didn't I tell you not to come on here and offer your "opinion" any more? I'll have to smack you around again and embarrass you with really easy put-downs.
Good luck to everyone else racing out in Phoenix...the Vision (Air)Heads made it in the race and they're right in the middle of the field so they can cause maximum damage. I predict Johnson finishes 4 laps down and pisses off several drivers with his knucklehead driving. Dusty will wreck out before halfway thru the race.
The count of wrecked trucks is currently at 0.......for now.
