1-800-LoanMart is proud to announce that we have struck a deal with the promoters at the Orange Show Speedway to sponsor a giant Street Stock open Comp race on October 22. We are still finalizing all the specific details, but we are pleased to say that the minimum winners purse for the 'A' main will be $4000. The rules are being finalized right now, and will be posted shortly at www.californiaspeedjams.com. The rules are being worked to allow cars from Irwindale, Vegas, OSS, Blythe, and Havasu to compete, and with the close proximity of the individual track rules for this level of car, there will be very limited modifications necessary to make a level playing field for all. We are excited to find out the best Street Stock driver on the West Coast, and hope that this sort of purse will bring the best of the best. The plan is for a Friday night practice, and Saturday races. If there is a good amount of interest, we will be adding to the event, with the hopes of a 'Champions' Dash For Cash involving track champions from various Western tracks. As mentioned, this is hot off the presses, so please allow some time for the Orange Show to get the rules finalized and posted. We just want to make sure that everyone gets the word out, and can set that weekend aside!! Thanks, and we look forward to a huge event.

Really? They are putting up 4000.00 to win and you want more? Give me a break man. If you can't afford the gas to get there you shouldn't be racing anyway.
A- MAIN PAYOUT
1st- $4000.00 2nd- $2500.00 3rd- $1800.00
even 10th place will get 400.00 I am sure thats more than you are getting to win now!

This is from Duane a tech official from Orange Show Speedway. I would like to let everyone know: Gary, Mark, & myself are working very hard on the rule package for this event. I can tell you now to gather some lead. As soon as we have them done I will post them. As of now, we will have a stack of used tires at the track for the ones that need them. Please don't call me and ask specific questions about the rules until we get them posted. I wont have any answers until then. I would like to thank 800loan mart for helping out with this race. I would also like to thank all the competitors that have called and said they want to come. Also, the dirt cars will be welcome. Duane OSS Tech

SAN BERNARDINO, California — California Event Management officials today have amended the rules for the 1-800LoanMart Street Stock Shootout to make it even easier and more affordable for teams to compete in the lucrative Oct. 22 race at ASA-sanctioned Orange Show Speedway. The race will pay an unheard-of $4,000 to win and if early response is an indication it is going to be the short-track version of the Daytona 500 for drivers who usually race for $200 or $300 and a trophy. CEM officials have received inquiries from drivers at tracks throughout the Western U.S. and anticipate receiving 60 or more entries. An early-entry form is being prepared and soon will be available on the track’s website at www.CaliforniaSpeedJams.com. The complete rules for the event are available there as well. The amendment, drafted after listening to comments from drivers and car owners, generously waives the requirement that all entries must use Orange Show Speedway track tires only. The modified rule allows teams whose home tracks use the Hoosier 970 or 700 series tires to run those tires in the Shootout, but also stipulates that anyone purchasing new tires for the event MUST buy them from Orange Show Speedway. CEM President Mark Brinksma and his technical staff made the changes after drivers who already use the approved tires at their home tracks voiced concerns about the financial issues purchasing new tires would create for them. “The track and 1-800LoanMart are doing everything we can to make this an unforgettable event for the racers, the spectators and the track,” Brinksma said. “We’ve worked very hard on making the rules as racer-friendly as possible so everyone has a chance to compete and addressing the concerns about tires certainly does that.”

Anyone going besides me?
They have made their rules so it can be very inclusive for all drivers in the region. For those of us that have jacking bolts and your shocks are NOT in a stock location, they have made adjustments to the rules.
They decided these cars will have a 50# weight penalty and loss 1% left-side weight. So, we have to a weigh 3250lbs and left-side percentage is 55% max. We must also cap off our jacking bolts prior to actually racing. Another words, we can keep them uncovered for any practices but then must cover them before any qualifying.
This rule modification accounts for: 1) Jacking bolts, 2) shocks NOT in stock location, and 3) heim joint shocks.
I hope several us can go to show our support and participate in what will likely be some of the best racing we get to do.
Chuck

The rules are out for the street stock shootout. Hope to see you all there. Its seems like a very conservative fee to do that kind of racing. Look at the Friday practice as well, 10 hours if you can stand that much..lol Here's the link: www.californiaspeedjams.com/uploads/Car_Race_Entry_Flyer.pdfYou may have to copy and paste into your internet explorer addres bar. Good luck to everyone this weekend at the bullring and I hope several of us can make the shootout in a few weeks. CB

San Bernardino, CA = 1-800-LoanMart is proud to have presented the giant Street Stock open Comp race on October 22. The Bomber Nation was there to witness the huge event of cars getting bumped, pushed, nudged, spin-outs, and one car caught on fire. After the many caution flags that were waved during the 'A' main event the winner was the 08 - Josh Whitfield from Rocklin to win $4000, coming in second place was the 00 - Steve Smith from San Bernardino to win $2500. To whom ever wrote the opening and the kind words about Kayli.. Thank you. We surprised ourselves by qualifying 10 out of about 40 cars, tops out of the 5 cars that came from vegas. It was an honor just to line up with all the current and past champions from the west coast. The current Orange show track champion only out did her by .25 of a second. Not to bad considering it was only her 5th time in a street stock and 1st on a 1/4 mile track! After falling back and running around 15th, there was a 3 car wreck in front of her, although she missed any contact, she left the scene with a 2in hole in the radiator, thats what put us out. Kudos to James, Chuck, Mike and stan for making the trip.
