The Tri-City Raceway Is Roaring Back To Life
October 3, 2021 - By Bomber Nation Staff
WEST RICHLAND, Wash. — The Tri- City Raceway is roaring to life after 17 years of no cars, no races and no fans.
The 34th Annual Fall Classic is taking place this weekend with over 160 cars filling the pits.
On Saturday, October 2 during the first day of racing, there was a sight that the track hasn't seen in 17 years, the stands are packed with people ready to watch some racing.
Tickets sold out for this historic event before the races even started.
Fans filling the stands and cars filling the pits adds to the atmosphere, especially for the drivers who are racing to be the first to end up in the Tri-City Raceway victory lane in 17 years.
"It's so cool, and we just heard that it's completely sold out for the weekend. I've never, you know there's always been seats for fans but now it's sold out. And I can't even imagine what it's going to be like next year, I mean it's going to be like pre-sold tickets weeks and months in advance. So, it's cool to see something happening like this. When other tracks are shutting down across the country and they're opening back up for us, it's awesome," said driver, Naima Lang.
Not only did tickets sell out for the stands, RV parking also sold out for the weekend.
Race trailers fill the pits, fans fill the stands and RV's fill the camping area... a sight that many said they never thought they would see at Tri-City Raceway again.
