I helped lift the sprint car off of the kid Jimmy was talking about, he broke both legs, hit his head, and d**n near died that night, he was standing on his drivers trailer, where he was 'safe', cuz he was under age, and was hit by his own driver and friend because of equipment failure, if you think a kid in a stroller is 'safe' think again! And like Rick said, when we pull of the track wth adrenaline pumping, we are not thinking to watch out for kiddos!

Jasser, I think I would find another way to do it. There must be somebody you can leave the kid with, particularly if you are starting to race too. You must be pretty busy in the pits, which leaves little time to pay attention to the safety of your kid.

Goat Roper,
We've decided we probably won't race the same weekends-Minis and Bombers don't race much of the same day anyhow. Most of the time, we have friends and relatives help out with our child, but for now he does come into the pits with us, it's just the way things have to be for us at the moment. I'm not saying that Billy22x and I aren't invincible and nothing will happen, we've talked about the risks of bringing the child into the pits. While it does cost an extra $25 for the baby everytime he goes into the pits, I personally don't mind paying it if he's going to be with us. I'd rather pay that than not pay to a track that doesn't have insurance.
As far as 'racefan-guest's comment about not returning to the track as a result of having to pay for a baby, I would reconsider. There are options, such as sitting in the stands and not having to pay at all. I don't think in this track's case, that they're trying to rake in extra money, they are truly concerned for everyone's safety, and that should bring you peace of mind.

He's not scared, he just stares and hopes he'll be as tall as you when he grows up.
