Very interesting! They actually try to help the racers, instead of driving them away, and that keeps the car count up??? Who woulda thunk Verne Hmmm. Spell Check thinks "thunk" is a word?

well car count for irwindale slm was 21 and lm was 19 and they said that was a bad night at irwindale When was this? I didn't think they were pulling that many SLM. I know their LM field is pretty strong because that's where a few of the SRL guys are based out of...

I think the Irwindale car count is down to about 14-15 cars in the SLM division- partly because of the economy, but mostly due to the engine rule changes that left a lot of guys holding a lot of expensive engines.

There were 20 SLM at the first TSI race but they haven't had more than 14 since. The hobby stock is dismal, 5-6 and the street stock gets no more than 10-12. The LMs don't do too bad as many are either SLM or SRL drivers on off nights. With the engine rule and not having enough people coming into the class to replace those that stopped racing or went to K&N or SRL they just don't have the counts.
