I had a '65 Corvair canyon carver, when I was at the radar site in Oregon. It was not quite that fast. I would like to see that one. Is it a local car?

no verne charlie lives in new mexico and this corvair is a tube chassied full fledged open road monster with a 355chev mated to a zf transaxle out of a pantera and this is the second incarnation of the car after a wreck in2007 check out (you tube) silver state classic challenge to see the demise of the first incarnation of the car crashing at around 170mph after cuting a tire 1I

There used to be a kit available to put a small block in the rear seat area of a '65 and later Corvair. I always wanted one of those, but mine just had a stock motor. I put 6X14" wheels and Goodyear Wide Ovals on mine. It was fun on the canyon roads of north central Oregon, and I lived to tell about it. Thanks for the info, Oneeye.
