The Vision team is at Phoenix this weekend for the K&N West race. Dusty davis Qualified 4th while 2010 Irwindale SLM champ Justin Johnson qualified 6th. Greg Pursley, a former SLM champ from Irwindale broke the record and sits on the pole. Pit stops can be a deal breaker in this series, and word is that Vision has hired a truck team to pit their cars to insure they don't lose spots on pit road.

TV coverage wasn't that great, but Johnson and Davis got some camera time and notice from the announcers. Looks like Davis went for the no tire strategy and stayed out most of the time- he was near the top 5 the whole way. Johnson stopped for tires along with Pursley and they both had to work through the field and miss a lot of wrecks. At about lap 107, we saw Johnson pass Waltrip, then there was a commercial. When the race came back on, it was lap 115 and Johnson was nowhere in sight. In the highlites you could see Waltrip turning Johnson around. People who were there say that Johnson on fresh tires had a big run off the turn on his teammate and Davis turned down in front of him- Johnson checked up and Waltrip nailed him in the rear. In any event they both got good exposure and experience on the 1 mile track, so they will be eligible for most of the tracks the East, West and Trucks run.

Hey topfive: Haven't heard you cheering on your special "boys" in a long time. Guess they must have lost all of their rides. Didn't think they were going anywhere once the well ran dry. Too bad old chap.

Hey Buzzy, I was going to make some clever response, but since today is the 10th anniversary of 9-11, how about you and I agree we are both Americans and stand together to remember those who were lost.
We can pick up our little battle later.

Too bad old chap. Buzzy, That dry well is affecting a lot of teams- Harvick is out of trucks for 2012, Hornady is out of a ride- Germain is out with all 3 trucks- The economy is making it tough on all racers from local short tracks to the cup teams. The good news for you is that you will now be able to count the Superlates at the Bullring without removing your shoes.
