Hey Justin, My car came with a 4.10 gear in it. I had to run it in 3rd, which didn't work very well. If your rear end is stock, it should be a heavy duty 10 bolt. That's what mine has. Go online and compare pictures of the housings to yours to make sure. There are differences in the shapes of the pointy things that hang down on the bottoms of the housings. Then take the picture of the right one to pick-a-part. Most half-ton pickups have 342's and the heavy duty 10 bolt rear ends. The ratios are stamped in the ring gears. Yeah, you have to take the covers off of a few of them. It will be up to you to decide if you want the whole thing, including the carrier, or just the ring and pinion. If you decide on just the ring and pinion, take a portable impact with you to remove the bolts. Also, those bolts have left hand threads. I chose only the ring and pinion, because I was sure that the ring would fit my carrier. Because you might have much lower gears, your carrier might not fit the 342 ring gear. You should be able to find out that online too, or just measure. My gears cost me $30 or something like that. Then I took the rear end and the gears to Bacas Differential 702-471-6799. For only $400 they installed the used gears and rebuilt the whole rear end with all new bearings. I took it to them in the afternoon, and they had it done the next day. I could have taken the whole car in, but I had the rear end out of the car anyway. Just a suggestion. I was just going to pm you, but I thought everybody ought to know about the great service I got from Bacas.
