It was still an illegal engine regardless of if it was in compliance under the seal. The rule is pretty clear in that you must run INEX seals regardless of the origin of the engine. While there appears to be no competitive advantage gained by the book it was an illegal part subject to penalty including a year suspension.

people got nothing better to do than talk crap.. people should wait until things are permanent..let things stem down before going to concussion about people being cheaters... I am glad to hear that the motor came back good... yes the seals were illegal and we will take penalty like real man , even though we feel victim to it... But in lease the seals made me faster than i can say i won fare and square..... sincerely, Michael Morris

Anyone here anything about the penalty for the seals? This is a tough one, hate to see a kid get suspended but it is tough for INEX to ignore tampered seals....

Yea, but I am of the philosophy that "No News is Good News"......and if no one has heard anything that means there is a good chance Michael will be back racing in a couple weeks!

It is official that Michael Morris has received the 1 year suspension with a possible review in 6 months. It was an unfortunate event that has transpired from an over sight on the Morris Team. I hate to see a kid not able to race, but on the other hand it is good to see Inex following the guidelines of the rule book. This will serve as a lesson learned to the new parents coming into bandos and to the parents that are already in bandos. Make sure you look at the equipment you are looking to purchase from private owners no matter how reputable their names are. Good Luck to the Morris Team in the Future.

That's way out of line- INEX needs to review its policies. A 1 year suspension to an 8 year old would seem like forever. 30 days or loss of points would be far more appropriate. If they want to keep these kids in the INEX program, they need to be a little more reasonable.

Why does the rule need review? The basis of the program is a sealed, spec engine. Non conforming seals damage the integrity of the program. It's a clear rule and they even suggest when buying a used engine to take it to a sealing shop for inspection. The team has no one to blame but themselves. Playing the victim card is a non starter. They are responsible for insuring the compliance of the vehicle they present.

If you were legal Wayne your son wouldn't have been suspended for a year. It's race dads like you that give race dads a bad name. Are you doing this for you, or for him?

You obviously have something against the Morris family, but these kids are out there to have fun. Rest assurred if it was the son of one of the NASCAR big stars who got caught, the penalties would be a whole lot different.

Please, you were clearly stating the penalty as per the rule needed review. The comparison is a weak attempt to justify your opinion. Can you prove that the rule has been enforced unequally? The solution is easy. If you don't want your kid suspended follow the rules. In any spec series that has engine sealing the seal violations are usually some of the harshest penalties out there.

I still maintain that the name of party selling the motor should be mentioned so that other potential customers don't get burned too. Happy Racing and we will see both of your sons back on the track real soon!!!
